“Lotions and Letters” for seniors is our latest local initiative! We are so happy that one of the seniors homes we were able to provide tablets to months ago recently asked us for help. What did they need? Lotions. The residents have such dry hands, especially with the required extra sanitation. Not only do the seniors have dry hands, but they are suffering from skin tears as well. We heard from one home that they were unable to fundraise to help their residents. So Project Joy set out to help.
Thus, our winter local project, Lotions and Letters, was born. We have been so fortunate to receive word that the following local companies will generously donate lotion: Witch Creek Inc., Home Grown Foods, Bright Smile Dental and Treestone Massage Therapy & Wellness We have a couple local schools on board and lots of Parkland students dedicated to making Christmas cards and crafts for our elderly community members.
If you are local to Spruce Grove and Stony Plain and would like to give an individual donation, please drop off at one of our wonderful local businesses supporting us: Home Grown Foods, Perks Coffee House, or Broadway & Grand.
We expect to help between 500-1000 residents in seniors facilities. Please message us if you are willing to help us collect letters or lotions. We have a minimum of 7 facilities we will be serving right now!
Lastly, drop off of the lotions and letters at the seniors facilities is a special surprise! We have had a limo donated to us by Dynamic Limo. We also have wonderful Santa and Mrs. Claus joining us to drop off our bags in Spruce Grove. In Stony Plain, we have a special limo bus and elves!
We wish to extend a huge thank you to our community for their support. Together we can help bring some joy and comfort to our local seniors.
